Being Wrong

    Most people will not admit they are wrong. Wickipedia explains it this way;

“A series of psychological experiments in the 1960s suggested that people are biased toward confirming their existing beliefs. Later work re-interpreted these results as a tendency to test ideas in a one-sided way, focusing on one possibility and ignoring alternatives. Explanations for the observed biases include wishful thinking and the limited human capacity to process information. Another proposal is that people show confirmation bias because they are pragmatically assessing the costs of being wrong rather than investigating in a neutral, scientific way.”

    I've caught myself doing that many times. It's much easier to plug in something previously heard from someone else than to reconcile something with my soul or the Bible.

    It's a human weakness to favor what we already think. Interestingly, it is the most common cause people get lost in the woods. They are sure they went that way, even though the sun is still in the same place and the trees have moss on the same side as when they left the trail. They usually walk in circles till they die. It's usually not a lack of information that causes people to be wrong. It's a lack of humility and effort. Pride makes people prefer to die rather than be wrong, and laziness argues for the status quo.

Status quo means the existing state of affairs, particularly with regard to social,  religious issues.

    Favoring what we already think also has far greater consequences against our chances of being chosen to get off this planet before it burns. Like our Lord said,

 “Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.” Luk 18:17

    A child is humble. They are still trying to understand the world around them. When an idea is presented, they try it on in their soul. If it fits with the truth God gave us all, they accept it. It's only later when we put filters in the path to protect and defend us from our enviornment that truth gets complicated. It's understandable to filter things in this world, even necessary for survival. In order to survive here we sometimes have to walk like a duck and quack like a duck. But in our hearts we had better be honest with God. No one in this world who doesn't accept the Bible can help us into heaven or get in themselves. Most people in the world choose a wooden duck for a religion. It floats and looks like a duck, but it will never fly. If you look around in church and don't see anyone advancing to a higher level of understanding, you may be on the wrong boat. Our Lord did say,

“Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.” Mar 7:7

    He was talking about the Pharisees and Sadducees in charge of the temple. They made up rules and added them on to His commandments, against His law, to elevate themselves.

What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it. Deu 12:32

    He gave us signs to recognize false teachers and prophets like;

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation. Mat 23:14

    If our Lord thought what was happening at the temple was in vain, What must He think of what came from the Romans later on? But, before we get to what went wrong, lets finish how to get right.

Wishes, Magical Thinking,
Unfounded faith,
And God

    In numerous cultures and societies, the concepts of wishful thinking and unfounded faith often blend seamlessly with the idea of magic. These elements play a significant role in human psychology and behavior, influencing how individuals approach life, face challenges, and maintain hope in uncertain situations.

Wishful Thinking

    Wishful thinking refers to the intellectual process of believing that something desirable will happen, regardless of the reality of the situation. It is a cognitive bias that leads individuals to avoid accepting unpleasant truths or to downplay the likelihood of negative outcomes. While it can provide emotional comfort, wishful thinking can also result in poor decision-making and a lack of preparedness for future challenges. For instance, someone may wish for a promotion at work without putting in the necessary effort or skills, leading to disappointment when the outcome does not match their expectations. This is something left over from our childhood. It's a pattern we became accustomed to when our parents took care of us and we had no worries. When we left home, we were shocked to discover how many things were being done for us. Some of us didn't pick up all tasks needed to replace our parents. Later, we found we could just wait till something stopped working and deal with it then. The problem with that is, by the time some things don't work out, it's too late. Then, after we sit in church and hear that everything is OK and Jesus did it all so we have nothing else to do, we stop looking or caring. We think the reason the Bible doesn't make sense is because of the different language and it's all so complicated. Then we discover we've been doing it like this so long, How can we change now? Who would go with us? It was good enough for our ancestors so it's good enough for us.

    Do we really think God will accept that? If we think that, then the rabbit won the race eventhough he was asleep.

Magical Thinking

    Magic, in this context, can be understood both literally and metaphorically. Literally, magic is often associated with rituals and beliefs that invoke supernatural forces to bring about desired outcomes. Metaphorically, it represents the idea of an elusive solution or an intervention that can resolve complex problems without tangible effort or practical groundwork. Many people think they will be chosen, go to heaven and magically made into  a good person. If that were the case, What is the reason for this world at all? Why even go through all this trouble? Why doesn't God just build robots?
    The fact is, heaven is not about magic. Creation may seem like magic and the evolution theory depends on it, but it is not. Magical thinking is a great shortcut to answers we are too lazy to investigate. Believing that hope or positive thoughts alone will lead to solutions without the requirement for action is childish. It's another thing from our childhood we need to let go. It's much better to deal with the real God in spirit and watch His response in reality.

Unfounded Faith

    Unfounded faith encompasses the belief in outcomes that have little to no supporting evidence. This form of faith can manifest in various ways, from placing trust in unproven theories and practices to believing in the inherent goodness of people despite consistent evidence to the contrary. While real faith can sometimes inspire individuals and groups to persevere through tough times, unfounded faith can also lead to disillusionment and vulnerability to manipulation. Holding on to non-biblical faith often becomes detrimental to personal or societal progress.

    The interplay between wishful thinking, magic, and unfounded faith can be particularly potent. During times of crisis, individuals may resort to wishful thinking, hoping for a rapid resolution and viewing the situation through a lens of magical possibilities. This mindset may provide temporary relief, but it can also hinder realistic planning and the adoption of practical solutions necessary for overcoming obstacles.

    Understanding the dynamics of wishful thinking, magic, and unfounded faith is essential for developing a balanced approach to challenges. And, recognizing the limits of these concepts and the potential consequences of relying on them.

How To Get Right

    The more wrong we are, the more difficult it is to get right. Often, the Lord gets our attention with catastrophic circumstances. Something really bad happens in our life that changes our status quo. After we are cut to the soul, we look to God for answers. Then we can make progress into His truth. It's actually quite simple, that's when we surrender to the truth. The Bible only makes sense when we surrender to it. All the while, we have to watch ourselves and realize in the flesh that we want to get back on the wrong boat with everyone else, Don't do that. It will cost more of those catastrophic circumstances.

The Bible Is Not Wrong

    Here in the West, we think God has blessed us because we invented most all of the good and helpful things in the world. But, it's more likely this is just a staging ground for the end of the world. Let's not forget God gave all the kingdoms of the world to the Devil to manage.
The whole reason for this planet is a staging ground to find trustworthy candidates for an eternal kingdom, It's a matter of allegiance. We are here to display ourselves and our choices before God. It's like Shakespeare said, “all the world's a stage and all the men and women merely players.” What he failed to say is, It's an audition. God is watching to see who has allegiance to Him and whom to the world, or the manager of the world.

    God cannot afford to give eternal life and unlimited power to people He can't trust. If He did, the universe would turn into another Star Wars. The new kingdom will have one God, one culture and one purpose. There will be no ownership of things, no empire against empire, God owns it all. So, we will have access to everything, billions of every-things.

    What we need to be doing now is getting our spirit in line with God's spirit. We do that by studying God's word in the Old and New Testaments. If there is a conflict in the text, we are not considering everything. Although, I found a couple words suspiciously mistranslated by people in the Middle Ages; it looks to me like sabotage. The word 'perfect' in the Old Testament Hebrew and  New Testament Greek both mean mature or complete, not perfect. The word 'prevent' in the Old and New Testaments is also wrong. It really means 'precede.' Requiring perfection discourages people and 'preventing the morning' is just ridiculous.

    But, the basic and consistent meaning of all the rules are completely reasonable and necessary for a culture with neighbors that last thousands of years. Allegiance to God and adherence to His rules are the central issue in the new kingdom. He calls them 'His Ways.' They are the reason He made about a million people walk around in circles until they died in the wilderness after leaving Mt. Sinai. God speaking through the psalmist said;

Forty years long was I grieved with this generation, and said, It is a people that do err in their heart, and they have not known my ways: Psa 95:10
Unto whom I sware in my wrath that they should not enter into my rest. Psa 95:11

    When it was time to cross the river Jordan, and Moses was on a mountain where he could see the river, but not cross it, God gave him a message to the people. It's the same idea as before, He said;

See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil; Deu 30:15
In that I command thee this day to love the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou may live and multiply: and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou go to possess it. Deu 30:16
But if thine heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them; Deu 30:17 I denounce unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish, and that ye shall not prolong your days upon the land, whither thou pass over Jordan to go to possess it. Deu 30:18 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: Deu 30:19

    We need to make a choice for the Lord these days. Keeping His rules is a pattern throughout history that will never end. Man has always had a choice to keep faith with God or not. This is how He is weeding out the trash from His garden. He cannot let the evil in this world get into the next.
    What our Lord demonstrated while He was here is the simple culture that will exist in the universe for all eternity. Some of the institutions He supported and some He condemned.
Men cannot be in charge of God's religion. Our Lord took away mans management when He split the vale of the temple and became the high priest from now on. Interestingly, He did not change that religion, He just fired all those who were mishandling it and took over.
After our Lord died, those religious leaders and their entire nation in the flesh were replaced by anyone who worships God in spirit and truth, making a new nation of spiritual worshipers.

    Not only did He take away their place as religious leaders, He also took away their name. Since they were no longer married to Him, they were no longer supposed to call themselves by His name, יְהוּדִּים, Yehudim 'Jews'. The most high God speaking to His son, our Lord, in The Revelation, said;

 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee. Rev 3:9

    Paul mentioned that the whole family of God in heaven and earth are called Jews. Speaking to the Ephesians, he said;

For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Eph 3:14
Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, Eph 3:15

    He said the whole family of God in heaven and earth are called by the name of the Father – not the Son. So, What is the name of the Father? If we recall, it was written on the hat of the high priest at the temple. If we look at the Old Testament in Hebrew, it's written clearly instead of the replacement name, Jehovah.

The Lord's Name

    Somehow, יְהוּה Yehu, got transliterated as, Jehovah. Most likely by someone who did not know enough about Hebrew. Perhaps because Hebrew has no vowels, it could be thought pronounced, יהוה, Jhoh, or Jhvh.

    Thing is, you don't get to use the vahv (ו) twice, so it's either an (o) or a (u).
The yod (י) usually carries a vowel, but in the time this text was written my Moses, they didn't write them down. You had to be a member of the club to know how to read the text.
But if we examine the name of the People of God, the Jews, יְהוּדִּים, Yehudim, we can see the yod does carry an (e). While the vahv carries a (u). So the name of God has to be, יְהוּה, Yehu, and therefore, 'people called by My Name.'

    It should be the same now as in the Old Testament, because God didn't change His name after He got divorced. But not everyone agrees with that. Many who live today who care nothing for any of this, thinking it's just family tradition, still believe their ancestors were telling the truth about bloodline heritage. “..which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie” Rev 3:9   יְהוּה

Our Lord's Name

     When the angel, Gabriel, was speaking to Mary or Miriam, in Hebrew, he said;

And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name, Yeshua. Luk 1:31

    Gabriel did not speak to Miriam in Greek or Spanish. He spoke in Hebrew. The name he told her to call the child is, יֵשׁוּעַ, Yeshua. What, Gabriel, said to Joseph, Miriam's espoused husband, translated into English is;

“And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name, SAVIOR: for he shall save his people from their sins.”  Mat 1:21

    That's not all. We know our Lord is also called by His Father's Name, like His Father's people, the יְהוּדִּים  Yehudim. Of course, He has many names, but if His given name is added to His last Name, it is Yeshua Yehudim. That translates into 'Savior of those of God.'
Apparently, it's OK to translate our Lord's name into other languages as long as it means Savior. During  Pentecost, while Peter was speaking, everyone there heard his words in their native language. If it was not permitted to translate everything into another language, Everyone there would have understood everything in Hebrew. What is more, it would be unreasonable to expect all the people of the world to know Hebrew. I know this from personal experience.

Little Suzie

    Once, when I was about seven years old,  I was in the backyard doing what seven year olds do, when it occurred to me to pick up an axe handle lying in the grass and see how far I could fling it into our garden across a fence. It went about forty yards as I watched being pleased with the distance, when I suddenly saw my little toy terrier dog where the axe handle was about to land. Sure enough, it hit her square down her back. I ran past the fences to where she lay without moving. Picking her up, I went to the back door of our house and laid her near the steps of the porch. My dad, mother and older brother came out to see what was happening. My mother took the opportunity to harshly scold me and sent me into the bathroom for a kind of time out. I looked into the mirror, tears streaming down my face and said, “God, if you are really there, don't let little Suzie die.” Within a minute, everyone came back inside the house. I could hear them clearly, my mother said, “I don't understand, that dog was dead, her eyes were fixed.” My dad said, “I don't know, I've never seen anything like it.” Later, when I asked what happened, they said while they were all looking at a dead dog, she just stood up and walked away.
     Both my parents grew up on farms living on animals and hunting. They were very familiar with dead animals. They never asked me anything about the incident, which was odd, and nothing else was ever said about it. But, I will always believe God brought my little dog back to life; and I was always aware of Him from then on.
So, that said, I don't believe it's absolutely necessary to know God's real name in order to communcate with Him. I think all it takes is a sincere heart and the right cause to contact Him using any language.

Ethnicity

    And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read..Luk 4:16

But I tell you of a truth, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elias, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the land; Luk 4:25
But unto none of them was Elias sent, save unto Sarepta, a city of Sidon, unto a woman that was a widow. Luk 4:26
 And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Eliseus the prophet; and none of them was cleansed, saving Naaman the Syrian. Luk 4:27
And all they in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath, Luk 4:28
And rose up, and thrust him out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong. Luk 4:29

    They thought God was partial to them because of their bloodline, but He showed them that was not the case, and it made them mad. That has never been the case. Even at Mount Sinai the only ones who survived were those whose heart was right with Him. Later, in the wilderness the same thing happened. Only those whose heart was right with Him lived to cross the Jordan river, only two out of the original million or so. Still today, The Lord has not changed His religion. When speaking with the woman at Jacob's well, He said;

“Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.” Joh 4:22
“But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.” Joh 4:23

     Then, while teaching in the temple the chief priests and elders came to Him to find out what authority He claimed to have. He gave them some examples of how things looked from God's view point and declared;

“Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.” Mat 21:43
 “And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.” Mat 21:44

And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they perceived that he spake of them. Mat 21:45 But when they sought to lay hands on him, they feared the multitude, because they took him for a prophet. Mat 21:46

    This means they became Gentiles and they knew it. Yet even today, many still believe in an ethnic empire that God never promised. He did promise Abraham his children would be a great nation, but He promised the same to Ishmael. The last time the most high God said anthing about ethnic Israel was, again;

“And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive; Rev 2:8
I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.” Rev 2:9
And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write... Rev 3:7
“I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name. Rev 3:8
Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.” Rev 3:9

    Think about that; If being a Jew had anything to do with bloodline, What difference would it make what they said? Jews would still be Jews and Gentiles would still be Gentiles.
Clearly, God defined His people as something other than an ethnic bloodline.

    Paul expressed it best;

 For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. Rom 4:13

And;

For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: Rom 2:28
But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God. Rom 2:29

    God could have chosen a different group to marry. The point is not the skin color, it is our allegience and behavior toward God that makes us Jews.

    The fact is, everyone born on earth is a Gentile until they are saved by faith and baptized to the Savior, Yeshua Ha Mashiach. Since He is now king of the universe, it will now be His way forever.

The Authentic Way

    In a world where beliefs and practices often shift with the tides of culture and society, Judaism stands as a beacon of unwavering truth. Its teachings and traditions have endured for thousands of years, a testament to their divine origin.

    At the heart of Judaism lies the understanding that God is unchanging and His path for humanity remains constant. This principle is rooted in the fact that God established His covenant with the people of faith, providing them with laws, ethics, and a way of life that extends beyond mere ritual into the realm of immortal and spiritual responsibility designed to last forever. This covenant is not just a relic of the past but a living framework for a home in His new kingdom.

    While many religions have emerged and evolved over time, Judaism teaches that God's ways remain the same.

    To truly grasp the significance of Judaism's history as the ultimate way, we must appreciate the depth of its historical roots beginning with Enoch in the First Age of the world. Then, the Jewish people, beginning at the mountain that burned with fire, faced trials and tribulations since that time to demonstrate what happens between God, Mankind and faith. This history reflects a profound understanding that divine truth does not waver with changing times; rather, it offers a steadfast foundation on which we can build a life grounded in morality, purpose and hope.

    Embracing Judaism, we align with a legacy that transcends generations, offering spiritual fulfillment and intellectual challenge. It invites believers and seekers alike to explore its depths, engage with its teachings, and become part of a heritage that has no limit in the future.

     In conclusion, God did not change His religion. The truth of Judaism is eternal, offering a path that leads to enlightenment, justice, and a lasting connection with the divine. As we journey through life, let us reaffirm our commitment to this ancient yet ever-relevant faith, championing its principles and sharing its wisdom with all who seek the authentic way.
